Looking back to 1972, I was just a young boy and the memory of my Father coming through the door excitedly holding his new double album, Hot August Night Live.
The memories of Dad pretending to conduct the string sections, as the album took us on a musical journey like no other. Hot August Night would go on to become one of the highest selling albums of all time, spending 29 weeks at number 1 in Australia.
My brothers and I weren’t allowed to use the record player, but this didn’t stop me sneaking in when he was out. I’d play this record over and over fantasizing about being Neil Diamond and trying to mimic his voice. This is where my love of singing, and music began.
Now, 50 years on I get to stand on stage, singing the songs of Neil Diamond.
I get to sing and tell The Neil Diamond Story as we breathe new energy into these timeless classics, taking you on our musical journey to relive these iconic songs together.
